I was born a seaside child and have always needed to be there, by the sea. The ever-changing view from the windows of my successive homes has had a profound effect on my work.
I was raised in an environment where all arts were encouraged. My father was a professional writer. My mother took us to the orchestra from a very young age. She played the piano whilst I danced. Perhaps this is why I like to see my works as "a song and dance act on paper".
I have travelled extensively, finding as much joy in other landscapes as I do in other races.
I started to paint when I was nursing in Papua New Guinea in the early 70's. I continued my painting development spasmodically until 1993 when I embarked on a serious commitment to my artistic development, and now paint full time as well as running an Art Studio tutoring in Painting and Printmaking.
